Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) deputy speaker Ahmed Al Salloom yesterday commended Bahrain’s stance, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, in supporting international and regional efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, facilitating humanitarian aid delivery to civilians, safeguarding humanitarian law and the Palestinian people.
Mr Al Salloom made the statement as he addressed the meeting of the APA Permanent Political Committee, held in Iraq. He led Bahrain’s delegation to the meetings of the APA Permanent Political Committee and the Executive Council.
He emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to efforts in ending the Gaza conflict, protecting civilians, and ensuring aid delivery. He highlighted the importance of regional and international efforts to achieve a two-state solution and an independent Palestinian state.
Mr Al Salloom also called on Asian parliaments to support efforts for a just settlement that brings stability to the conflict-affected region.
