Bahrain and Oman have renewed their commitment to fostering strategic co-operation to enhance their historic relations.
His Majesty King Hamad, who is on an official visit to the country, held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq at Al Alam Palace in Muscat yesterday.
The King thanked Sultan Haitham for the warm reception, and wished Oman continued prosperity and progress under his leadership.
Sultan Haitham welcomed the King, highlighting the deep ties, shared heritage and mutual respect between Oman and Bahrain.
The talks, attended by members of both delegations, covered the strong historic ties between the two nations and explored means to enhance co-operation across all domains.
Both leaders emphasised their commitment to further developing relations and advancing joint efforts to serve their shared interests.
His Majesty said the exemplary relations between Bahrain and Oman were built on strong foundations of mutual understanding.
He highlighted the efforts of the Sultan to bolster these ties, praising Oman’s achievements under his leadership.
The meeting also addressed Gulf co-operation amid regional challenges, emphasising the importance of unity within the GCC to safeguard security and stability.
Regional and international developments were discussed, including Middle East issues.
Both sides emphasised the importance of co-ordinated efforts to ensure regional stability, avert the repercussions of new crises, and work towards a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution to the Palestinian conflict.
The Sultan expressed pride in the visit of His Majesty, describing it as a boost to the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.
He also commended the King’s leadership, which has driven Bahrain’s remarkable progress and achievements across various sectors.
