Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has emphasised the importance of implementing innovative initiatives to support Bahraini farmers. He highlighted food security initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural production and supporting Bahraini farmers, during a visit to the Farmers Market at the Budaiya Botanical Garden yesterday. The market is organised by the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry.
Shaikh Mohammed pointed out that the food security initiatives are in line with the vision and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad.
They also align with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to achieve sustainable food security and meet the kingdom’s current and future needs.
He was received by Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak and senior officials.
During a tour of the market, Shaikh Mohammed was briefed on the market’s agricultural products and met farmers and business owners.
He commended the farmers’ commitment to preserving the profession, which is an integral part of Bahrain’s history and cultural heritage.
He highlighted the Farmers Market as a successful example of initiatives that has made significant strides in promoting national products over its 12-year history.
Shaikh Mohammed commended the efforts made by the ministry and relevant authorities in organising events that support Bahraini farmers, wishing further success to the market and its participating farmers.
Mr Al Mubarak expressed his appreciation for Shaikh Mohammed’s visit and noted that it was a great source of encouragement for its participants.
He also affirmed the ministry’s commitment to fostering agricultural development in Bahrain.
