A MAJOR collaboration to empower creativity in Bahrain and strengthen the local art community has been announced.
Art Station, the RAK Art Foundation’s cultural art space, and Creative Industry Summit, a leading platform in the Middle East and North Africa region promoting the creative economy, signed a deal yesterday at the foundation’s premises in Riffa.
The partnership focuses on creating opportunities for connection and education in the creative industries.
“Through the collaboration, we aim to enrich Bahrain’s cultural landscape, empower local artists, and contribute to the growth of the creative and cultural industries,” RAK Art Foundation founder Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said, highlighting the kingdom’s commitment to fostering creative industries through diverse initiatives, including Tamkeen’s (Labour Fund) programmes.
For her part, Creative Industry Summit founding partner Mai Salama emphasised that Bahrain remains a leader in the Gulf region’s creative economy, blending its rich heritage with innovation, and one of the first countries to establish a National Arts Council.
The Creative Industry Summit has staged numerous flagship events, award shows and year-round activities for more than a decade.
