Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has named Fatima Al Alawi as its chief executive officer. She becomes the first woman to take up this post in the Islamic banking sector in Bahrain.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Fatima Al Alawi as the bank’s chief executive, which confirms our tireless efforts to maintain BisB’s distinction in Islamic banking,” the bank’s chairman, Zaid Khalid Abdulrahman, said.
Mr Abdulrahman
Ms Al Alawi has been serving as the bank’s acting chief executive since August and has been leading the bank’s development process. She also played a key role in leading the bank’s digital transformation initiatives and consolidating its position as an advanced banking institution in Bahrain.
