Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday inaugurated the 15th Professional Development Conference and Exhibition, which is jointly organised by the American Society of Safety Professionals-Middle East Chapter (ASSP-MEC) and the Interior Ministry.
The opening ceremony was attended by Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) deputy chief executive for human resources Nabeel Abdullah Al Jema, Public Security Chief Lieutenant-General Tariq Al Hassan, Saudi High Commission for Industrial Security Governor Ali Al Zahrani and senior officials from the Interior Ministry.
General Shaikh Rashid stressed the importance of cooperation in the training field to groom highly qualified competencies in public safety. He also pointed out the need to leverage modern technologies to advance safety practices.
He explained that security awareness represents an essential part of the areas of security and public safety, and requires continuous development in light of the rapid changes, noting in this regard the launch of the National Civil Protection Platform in November 2023 with the aim of enhancing awareness among citizens and residents and providing information and means to protect public safety and confirm readiness to confront emergency situations.
