The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has announced its support for wage increases for 31 Bahraini employees at ART Hotel and Resort through its Wage Increment Programme. This initiative aims to incentivise private sector enterprises to enhance wages for Bahraini employees while fostering clear career progression pathways.
This support aligns seamlessly with Tamkeen’s 2025 strategic priorities, which emphasise enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahrainis within the private sector, equipping them with the requisite skills for career advancement, and prioritising enterprise growth, digitisation, and sustainability. Furthermore, Tamkeen focuses on supporting the development of a robust ecosystem surrounding the labour market and private sector.
Khalid Al Bayat, chief growth officer at Tamkeen, said: “The hospitality sector serves as a pivotal contributor to the national economy, employing over 30,000 individuals across diverse roles and specialisations, thereby presenting abundant opportunities for local talent. We remain steadfast in our support for businesses across all sectors and developmental stages that strive to provide employment and career development avenues for Bahraini talent, thereby contributing positively towards shared developmental objectives.”
Ramez Naama, general manager of ART Hotel & Resort, expressed his appreciation: “We are immensely proud to support 31 Bahraini employees with expertise and competencies through Tamkeen’s valuable support. This has significantly augmented growth opportunities for local talent and fostered enhanced institutional loyalty among our employees. Notably, over 63 per cent of Bahraini employees at ART Hotel and Resort have benefited from the Wage Increment Programme, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering Bahrainis to assume leadership and managerial roles.”
