Hundreds of citizens, residents and tourists yesterday visited the annual Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Farmers Market for food and entertainment options for families and individuals.
The event featured a number of stalls featuring local products from not just Bahraini farmers, but also local craftsmen.
Visitors enjoyed the main event, a hearty breakfast featuring not only Bahraini options such as balaleet and lugaimat, but also a number of continental food items.
It also featured an artists area, a petting zoo, pony riding and a lunch option.
Present were special guests Tourism Minister Fatima Al Sairafi, and Bahrain national team hero and 26th Gulf Cup champion Ebrahim Lutfalla, both of whom praised the event and visited stands to showcase their support for local talent.
Hotel public relations and marketing director Pamela Panduric reiterated the hotel’s desire to support local farmers and nurture local talent.
“We are honoured and privileged to be able to welcome Ms Sairafi and Mr Lutfalla to the second Farmers Market,” she told the GDN.
“Whether it’s the vegetables, artwork, honey, the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain has always been committed to local products and services.
“Fresh local produce and vegetables are being used in every one of our restaurants on a daily basis.
“The Primavera and Cantina Kahlo both use fresh Bahraini products with an Italian and Mexican twist, respectively.”
The popular event will also be held next on February 7 and 14.
