His Majesty King Hamad’s Personal Representative and Supreme Council for the Environment chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday highlighted the significance of National Environment Day as an annual occasion to raise awareness and encourage responsible environmental practices.
He emphasised the role of individuals in addressing environmental challenges, protecting natural resources and contributing to sustainable development.
Shaikh Abdulla noted Bahrain’s impactful efforts in environmental and climate preservation.
Marking National Environment Day on February 4, which coincides with the national campaign ‘Sustainable Water’, launched in partnership with the UN Environment Programme under the slogan Every Drop Tells a Story, Shaikh Abdulla underscored the role of society in water conservation. He noted the importance of responsible water use and the need to minimise waste and pollution.
