Bahrain and Egypt have stressed the importance of the Gaza Strip’s reconstruction and the need for a unified Arab stance to support lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
Both sides emphasised the need to hold an international peace conference for the Middle East, as proposed by His Majesty King Hamad during the Arab Summit hosted by Bahrain.
His Majesty yesterday received a call from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi during which the leaders underscored strong and deep-rooted bilateral relations.
They also highlighted the importance of strengthening co-operation across all domains, particularly in the economic and investment sectors.
The King commended Egypt’s efforts that led to the ceasefire agreement, highlighting its role in the process.
He noted the importance of fully implementing the ceasefire agreement and the necessity of initiating a political process to reach a permanent peace agreement that ensures stability in the region.
