His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Southern Governor and Chairman of the Security Committee, chaired its second meeting.
HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali highlighted the committee’s role in implementing the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and addressed the security needs of residents to enhance stability in the Southern Governorate.
HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali commended security agencies for their efforts in maintaining safety and noted the strong cooperation between the governorate and security entities to meet public security requirements effectively.
The governor reviewed the preparations of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate and the General Directorate of Traffic for Ramadhan.
HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali directed enhanced coordination to support community police efforts and ensure traffic patrols are deployed effectively around main roads, mosques, and public spaces. He also noted the importance of intensifying security campaigns in markets and public facilities to uphold safety during the holy month.
HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali emphasised the need for coordination between security agencies to ensure the safety of campers and visitors to desert areas, particularly during the removal of camps at the end of the season.
The governor also highlighted the importance of environmental preservation and maintaining cleanliness in these areas. He commended the collaborative security efforts, noting a decline in reported incidents, increased police patrols, and the success of over 80 awareness campaigns aimed at promoting safety.
The governor instructed early coordination for the observance of World Civil Defence Day on March 1, as part of the governorate’s efforts to support security initiatives and raise public awareness. He emphasised the collaboration between the governorate and security authorities in organising community-focused security programmes.
HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali directed the General Directorate of Traffic and the Southern Governorate Police Directorate to address traffic flow concerns in Block 912 in West Riffa, ensuring residents' needs are met.
