Defence Affairs Minister Lieutenant General Abdulla Al Nuaimi yesterday inaugurated a new facility of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), as part of celebrations marking the force’s 57th anniversary.
After unveiling the commemorative plaque to mark the opening of the modern facility, the minister listened to a briefing on the facility’s departments, facilities and equipment.
Royal Bahraini Air Force Commander Major General Pilot Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa delivered the welcome speech.
The minister reaffirmed the commitment to enhancing all BDF units and branches, both militarily and administratively, by equipping them with modern facilities and advanced technology, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the continuous support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister.
Lt Gen Al Nuaimi also highlighted the support of BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
The minister emphasised that the anniversary of the BDF’s establishment was a significant national occasion that highlights the role played by the BDF in safeguarding national security, stability and achievements.
The event was attended by a number of senior BDF officers.
