National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa held a meeting with US Congress members Carol Miller and Jimmy Panetta.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser emphasised the strong strategic relations between Bahrain and the US.
Ms Miller expressed appreciation to Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser and commended the deep-rooted relations and the mutual co-operation between the two countries.
The meeting also explored means to enhance co-operation across various sectors and discussed topics of mutual interest.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser separately met Senate Armed Services Committee chairman Senator Roger Wicker and ranking member Senator Jack Reed during his visit to the US.
The meetings were attended by Bahrain’s Ambassador to the US Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Adviser Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa and chairman of the Strategic Security Bureau Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser separately met US National Security Adviser Michael Waltz.
During the meeting, Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser and Mr Waltz discussed ways to enhance co-operation and addressed several topics of common interest.
