The Shura Council’s legislative and legal affairs committee, chaired by Dalal Al Zayed, confirmed the constitutional and legal validity of a draft law approving the amended Marrakesh Agreement to include the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies under Annex 1A of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) framework.
The draft law supports efforts to protect global fish stocks by banning harmful fisheries subsidies, contributing to ocean sustainability.
The committee referred its findings to the foreign affairs, defence, and national security committee for further review, confirming that the draft law aligns with constitutional and legal provisions.
