Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has highlighted the ministry’s commitment to enhancing public-private partnerships in developing the telecommunications and IT sector and modernising legislative, regulatory and digital infrastructure.
In a meeting with Mumtalakat chief executive and Beyon chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the minister said this will position Bahrain as a leading regional hub for digital transformation and technological innovation.
The meeting discussed strategic co-operation between the ministry and Beyon in developing digital infrastructure projects and means to enhance them in line with the Telecommunications, ICT, and Digital Economy Strategy (2022-2026), the Sixth National Telecommunications Plan, the Government Programme (2023-2026), and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The minister highlighted that these efforts contribute to further developing Bahrain’s competitiveness and supporting its investment and development goals.
On his part, Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa commended the ministry’s efforts in developing digital infrastructure. He also commended its commitment to advancing an investment friendly environment through public-private sector collaboration, supporting national development initiatives and plans.
