Thirty-three Filipinos have graduated from a programme aimed at teaching them key skills such as financial literacy, leadership training and social entrepreneurship.
A graduation ceremony was held at the Mövenpick Bahrain to honour the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).
The Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Programme (ALSE OF-LIFE) was organised in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy, Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Bahrain and the Filipino Club Bahrain.
Philippine Ambassador Anne Jalando-on Louis and Ateneo School of Government dean Dr Philip Tuaño delivered speeches emphasising the graduates’ role in being change-makers in their communities. They also highlighted how education and leadership can positively impact the lives of OFWs.
Graduates received certificates and some gave testimonials.
An agreement was also signed between the MWO and Ateneo School of Government.
