Arcapita, a global alternative investment firm, and King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop advanced warehousing facilities within KAEC’s Industrial Valley.
The agreement, formalised at a ceremony in Bahrain, aims to boost the region’s industrial growth, enhance KAEC’s operational capabilities, foster innovation, and attract foreign investment.
Arcapita will leverage its expertise in developing built-to-suit industrial real estate to create warehouses tailored to tenant needs.
The MoU was signed by Industrial Valley and KAEC Special Economic Zone chief officer Majid Matbouly and Arcapita Mena Real Estate director Isa Al Khalifa.
“This MoU is a significant step in KAEC’s mission to develop a leading industrial and economic powerhouse,” said Mr Matbouly. “With Arcapita’s proven expertise, we are confident this partnership will elevate the Industrial Valley’s service offerings, competitiveness, and global appeal.”
The collaboration will provide KAEC access to Arcapita’s global network of tenants, attracting high-quality investors. The development will focus on ESG-compliant warehousing projects, ensuring environmental sustainability and operational efficiency, and offer participation in a portfolio of flagship assets.
KAEC will act as a strategic partner, co-ordinating involvement in KAEC-related activities and conferences. The partnership is expected to generate significant economic and industrial growth opportunities for the Industrial Valley, reinforcing its position as a leading industrial hub in Saudi Arabia.
“We are pleased to collaborate with KAEC,” said Mr Al Khalifa. “Together, we aim to establish modern industrial facilities that align with global standards, delivering innovative and environmentally sustainable solutions to our partners and stakeholders.”
This partnership underscores KAEC’s commitment to building a world-class industrial ecosystem, attracting foreign investment, and offering cutting-edge warehousing solutions. It reinforces KAEC’s role in driving Saudi Arabia’s industrialisation and lays the foundation for sustainable development, innovation, and global partnerships.
