Skills Bahrain, an initiative of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Bahrain FinTech Bay (BFB) co-hosted the ‘Future Skills – Fintech event.
The event convened industry leaders, regulators, and fintech professionals to discuss the findings of the newly-released Fintech Sector Skills Report.
This report, a joint effort by Skills Bahrain and BFB, analyses labour market trends, identifies skill gaps, and highlights opportunities within Bahrain’s burgeoning fintech sector.
This initiative underscores Skills Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to guiding local talent and promoting in-demand skills and jobs within key economic sectors. It also reinforces BFB’s dedication to strengthening Bahrain’s position as a regional fintech hub. Discussions at the event centred on the skills needed to meet current and future industry demands, education and training opportunities for Bahraini professionals, and strategies for effectively bridging talent gaps.
Skills Bahrain managing director Amer Marhoon emphasised the importance of the Fintech Sector Skills Report as a benchmark for navigating the evolving fintech landscape.
“We are committed to empowering the Bahraini workforce by providing them with the information necessary to make informed education and career decisions that align with the demands of a rapidly evolving digital economy,” Mr Marhoon stated. “Developed in collaboration with industry leaders, the report offers valuable insights into the skills and jobs needed in Bahrain’s labour market. This, in turn, enables Tamkeen to develop targeted training programmes based on real-world industry insights. We are pleased to partner with Bahrain FinTech Bay to bring together sector experts and professionals to discuss the report’s key findings.”
BFB chief executive Bader Sater highlighted the critical role of talent development in advancing Bahrain’s fintech sector. “Through this collaboration with Skills Bahrain, we aim to bridge skill gaps, create opportunities for professionals, and drive sustainable growth in the industry,” Mr Sater commented. “The findings of this report will serve as a foundation for shaping future initiatives that enhance the capabilities of Bahrain’s workforce and solidify the Kingdom’s position as a leader in fintech innovation.”
