Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) chairman Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa yesterday inaugurated Abdullah Nass Mosque in East Hidd, in line with the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to open, renovate and develop 40 mosques across Bahrain.
He highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to maintaining places of worship, acknowledging the support of His Majesty King Hamad and the direct follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The SCIA chairman commended the role of philanthropists in mosque construction, noting the contributions of the Nass family. He emphasised SCIA’s efforts, under royal directives, to support charitable initiatives and facilitate mosque development.
The inauguration was attended by senior officials, religious scholars and community members.
Abdullah Nass Mosque spans 4,700 square metres, accommodates more than 1,600 worshippers, and includes social facilities, endowment-funded commercial units, and residential quarters for the imam and muezzin.
