The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has launched the electronic property ownership certificate for all real estate registration requests, marking a significant step towards expediting property transactions and streamlining related government and banking procedures.
The initiative aims to enhance the quality of government services provided to citizens, residents, and investors.
The bureau underscored that the electronic certificate is part of its ongoing development efforts to deliver modern, high-quality real estate services by establishing an integrated digital environment that meets sector requirements and customer needs.
The electronic property ownership certificate facilitates the completion of various government and banking transactions that require the original ownership document. Customers can now proceed with these processes using the electronic certificate, which serves as an official temporary document but is not tradable. It is issued instantly upon payment of the required fees, and customers receive a text message containing a download link. The certificate also includes a QR code for tracking its issuance.
The bureau expects this service to boost confidence in the local real estate sector among individuals, businesses, and financial institutions.
The bureau highlighted that the electronic certificate caters to a broad segment of citizens, residents, and investors both inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. It offers significant time and effort savings while safeguarding customer rights and aligning with World Bank real estate standards, contributing to a secure and attractive investment environment.
Since its trial launch in September 2024, over 10,000 clients have benefited from the service. The bureau developed the initiative based on an extensive study of customer needs and feedback, reaffirming its commitment to ongoing improvements in real estate registration services.
