His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has highlighted the importance of Bahrain’s continued advancement of its communications and information technology sector.
He underscored its role in driving the government’s digital transformation and contributing to the kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister made the statement as he met Interior Minister and Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology chairman General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the kingdom’s ongoing adoption of strategic projects to improve public services and integrate digital solutions across various government sectors.
He commended the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, under the leadership of the Interior Minister, for its efforts in accelerating digital transformation across government services and overseeing the implementation of key initiatives, including the recently launched new identity cards, the Innovation Lab and the self-service centre.
He also noted the importance of developing policies, plans and programmes that drive digital transformation, focusing on continuous monitoring and evaluation to enhance government services and deliver long-term benefits to citizens.
General Shaikh Rashid reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to adopting innovative digital technologies and securing government services, in line with its comprehensive development goals under the leadership of His Majesty and the support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He expressed thanks and appreciation for HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s support in advancing government services.
Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad Al Malki and Information and eGovernment Authority chief executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed also attended the meeting.
