The Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry has launched the remote visual notarisation service. Courts, family reconciliation and alimony under-secretary Dana Al Zayani announced that the service, provided by private notaries within the kingdom, has been introduced in co-ordination with the Information and eGovernment Authority.
The service, available at https://notary.moj.gov.bh, will be implemented gradually, initially covering specific types of transactions. It remains optional.
Ms Al Zayani advised those interested in the service to register for the Government Notifications System (NotifyMe) via bahrain.bh and update their contact details, as registered contact information will be required for service access.
She emphasised the ministry’s commitment to digital transformation, offering more flexible options for businesses and individuals while streamlining notarisation and authentication processes.
The new service eliminates the need for in-person attendance and paper-based transactions. It uses Blockchain technology to secure and digitally store notarised documents, ensure their authenticity and prevent modifications.
It also enables electronic signatures via OTP verification, private notary transaction inquiries, and transaction cancellation.
