His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received a cable of congratulations from Transportation and Telecommunications Minister and King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence board of trustees chairman Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on the adoption of a United Nations General Assembly resolution, initiated by Bahrain through the centre, establishing January 28 as the International Day for Peaceful Coexistence. The date coincides with His Majesty’s birthday.
The minister expressed his pride in this historic achievement, which reflects the international community’s recognition of His Majesty’s vision in promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence among nations.
Dr Shaikh Abdulla emphasised that the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the resolution is a testament to His Majesty’s humanitarian approach and pioneering initiatives in fostering a culture of peace, interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural understanding. He also highlighted Bahrain’s role as a global model for tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also received cables of congratulations from Dr Shaikh Abdulla following the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of January 28 as the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence.
