Bahrain Bourse and Bahrain Clear participated in the HSBC MENAT Future Forum 2025 in Dubai, aiming to attract international investors and showcase market developments, the bourse said.
The forum provided a platform to discuss regulatory updates and market infrastructure in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) region, with a focus on digital transformation.
Bahrain Clear chief operating officer Abdulla Abdin highlighted recent regulatory changes, including a “Technical (Uncovered) Short Selling” framework and a new Delivery Versus Payment (DVP) model, during a panel discussion.
Bahrain Bourse and Clear representatives held meetings with fund and asset managers to discuss Bahrain’s capital market regulations and investment opportunities.
“Bahrain Bourse’s participation...underscores our commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening regional and international market linkages,” said Bahrain Bourse chief executive Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa.
Joseph Ghorayeb, chief executive of HSBC in Bahrain, said the forum was a key event for industry leaders and investors.
The forum included speakers from exchanges and regulatory bodies across the MENAT region, discussing market infrastructure, securities lending, and digitalisation.
