Following the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to open, renovate, and restore 40 mosques under the Sunni and Jaffari Endowments Directorates across Bahrain, Sunni Endowments Council chairman Dr Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajeri laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Yusuf bin Ahmed bin Ali Kanoo Mosque in Salman City.
Dr Shaikh Rashid highlighted the kingdom’s ongoing efforts in constructing and maintaining mosques under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad. He also highlighted the support of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister in ensuring the development of mosques across all governorates.
The mosque consists of two floors, with a total area of 2,998 square metres, accommodating more than 900 worshippers. It includes two prayer halls for men and women, two event halls, a Quran memorisation centre, as well as service facilities and parking spaces.
