Bahrain Bourse (BHB) marked International Women’s Day by participating in the UN’s ‘Ring the Bell for Gender Equality’ initiative for the seventh consecutive year.
Joining 116 global exchanges, BHB highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, aligning with the initiative’s theme, “Ring the Bell for ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”
BHB chief excutive Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa emphasised the bourse’s commitment to gender equality, noting its support for UN Sustainable Development Goal 5.
BHB’s initiatives include a Board Mentorship Programme with BIBF and endorsement of the UN Women Empowerment Principles (WEP). The bourse also supports sustainable capital markets through its commitment to the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative.
