His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received a letter of thanks and appreciation from Al Azhar Grand Imam and Muslim Council of Elders chairman Dr Ahmed Al Tayeb for his patronage of the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference themed ‘One Nation, One Shared Destiny’, held in Manama last month.
Dr Al Tayeb noted that the conference took place at a critical juncture for the Islamic world, where its 15-century civilisation faces significant challenges.
He praised the King’s dedication to the Arab and Islamic communities, highlighting the warm reception extended, which reflects the King’s profound appreciation for Islamic scholars at Al Azhar and their role in promoting peace and the values of Islam.
Dr Al Tayeb emphasised that both Al Azhar and the Muslim Council of Elders value their relationship with Bahrain, which has made substantial contributions to promoting the true, moderate and peaceful nature of Islam through joint international conferences.
The Grand Imam wished the kingdom continued peace and security, as well as success for the efforts led by His Majesty.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also received a letter of thanks from Dr Al Tayeb for the warm welcome and hospitality during his visit to the kingdom.
