His Majesty King Hamad has been praised for his unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their resistance.
The King, the current President of the Arab Summit, received a letter from Palestinian President and Palestine Liberation Organisation executive committee chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
President Abbas expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for His Majesty’s leadership of the extraordinary session of the Arab Summit (Palestine Summit), recently held in Cairo, as a step towards strengthening Arab unity in the face of challenges.
He valued the address of the King that underscored Bahrain’s firm and unwavering position in supporting the Palestinian people’s steadfastness in their homeland as a legitimate right and highlighting the mobilisation of Arab and international support for the Gaza reconstruction plan without the displacement of its residents.
President Abbas noted that His Majesty also emphasised the importance of holding an international conference to secure Arab and international funding for its implementation, affirming the support for the efforts of Palestine to assume its responsibilities in Gaza. He also valued Bahrain’s continuous support for the Palestinian people, particularly in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
President Abbas expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s efforts in international forums to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to freedom, independence and a sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Earlier yesterday, the Cabinet at its weekly meeting, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, highlighted the importance of the Arab Summit, co-chaired by His Majesty and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
It highlighted key points of the King’s address, reaffirming the kingdom’s commitment to Arab unity and the advancement of Arab values, particularly the principles of moderation and forgiveness, which are fundamental to fostering peaceful and prosperous societies. The King’s address also reiterated the kingdom’s commitment to a comprehensive and just peace, as outlined during the Bahrain Summit, the Cabinet added.
