One of Bahrain’s leading retailers, Alosra Supermarket, has strengthened community ties by donating essential goods to families across the kingdom through its annual Ramadan charity initiative.
The supermarket chain’s team recently distributed carefully-curated boxes of staple food items and essential supplies to more than 2,800 families.
“Through ongoing collaborations with charitable organisations and local initiatives, Alosra continues to play an active role in fostering social cohesion and ensuring that no family is left behind,” a company statement confirmed.
This initiative, rooted in Alosra’s ethos of giving back to the communities it serves, aligns with the spirit of Ramadan, a time of generosity, compassion and support for those less fortunate.
The company collaborated with a range of partners, including local governorates, the Rotary Club of Salmaniya, the Rotary Club of Seef Bahrain, and the Nakheel Centre, ensuring that assistance reached families in diverse locations across the country.
By leveraging these strategic partnerships, Alosra was able to effectively identify and support households facing financial hardship.
“Alosra is always grateful for any opportunity to give back to the community,” added Alosra head and retail director Ayachi Jomaa. “Ramadan is a time for reflection, compassion and generosity, and we are proud to play our part in uplifting those facing difficult times.
“Through the collaborative efforts of our partners and the steadfast support of our customers, we have been able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of families.
“I’m also very thankful for the constant direction and guidance of our board of directors that allow us to continue making a meaningful impact in our communities,” he added.
Alosra’s annual Ramadan charity initiative has grown in scale and impact over the years, becoming a vital source of support.
The company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility extends beyond this initiative, as it ‘continuously seeks ways to engage with and uplift local communities throughout the year’, Alosra added.
