The foundation stone for a new state-of-the-art public girl’s school in Galali was laid yesterday during a ceremony organised by the Education Ministry and attended by government officials.
The new institution will be built according to the latest educational standards and will feature environmentally friendly and energy-efficient specifications.
The 14,500sqm school will include two academic buildings and one administrative building, with 44 classrooms capable of holding 1,540 students.
There will also be two classrooms for students with special needs, two science labs, two computer labs, two art studios and two design and technology labs.
The school will have a spacious sports hall, a knowledge resource centre and a music room. Additionally, there will be offices for staff and 66 parking spaces.

Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma said that the project aligned with the government’s commitment to enhance the quality of educational services in the country.
“This project is part of a comprehensive plan to build 18 new schools across Bahrain and add 23 academic buildings to existing schools,” he said.
“The construction of new schools and buildings with the latest technology and services will give students the best possible opportunities to learn and reinforces the ministry’s efforts to improve the quality of public education.”
He also praised the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for supporting the project.
The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador Shaikh Thamer Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, MP Khalid Bu Onk, Muharraq Municipal Council vice-president Saleh Buhaza, along with officials from the ministry, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and the project’s executive office.
