A delegation from the National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR) visited the Jaw Reform and Rehabilitation Centre to assess the conditions of inmates and ensure their freedom to practise religious rituals.
The delegation reviewed the organisational measures implemented by the centre’s administration to facilitate religious observance, particularly during Ramadan.
The delegation met a randomly selected group of inmates to hear their feedback. The visit aimed to verify that the centre’s administration has taken all necessary measures and provided the required facilities to enable inmates to observe their religious practices with ease, in accordance with the regulations outlined in the Reform and Rehabilitation Law and its executive bylaw.
