THE exhibitions sector plays an important role in promoting tourism growth, Tourism Minister and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) chairperson Fatima Al Sairafi has said.
She pointed to the economic and cultural impact of the sector in supporting tourism and strengthening the national economy during a meeting with researcher and media personality Abdul Karim Ismail, who is also the chief executive of the IBRAS Agency.
Mr Ismail presented to her a copy of his new book, Bahrain Exhibitions: A Historical Perspective, which explores the role of the exhibitions and conferences sector in strengthening Bahrain’s position as a regional events hub.
Ms Al Sairafi said the book represents an important documentary reference for those involved in the tourism and exhibitions industry, contributing to enriching Bahrain’s libraries with titles related to the tourism sector.
It also underscores the achievements that have contributed to strengthening the kingdom’s position as a regional and global hub for hosting major events, exhibitions and conferences, she said.
