A tree-planting ceremony aimed at supporting the kingdom’s environmental efforts took place at the US Embassy in Manama with an added incentive of cementing the roots of diplomacy and friendship.
US Ambassador Steven Bondy and Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak picked up watering cans to reflect the spirit of community engagement.
The minister emphasised the strong bilateral relations between Bahrain and the United States across multiple sectors and also reaffirmed a commitment to fostering partnerships to ensure the ongoing implementation of the National Afforestation Plan continues to grow.
The ambassador in turn praised Bahrain’s green initiative and expressed his appreciation to Mr Al Mubarak for including the embassy in the national campaign.
“A tree requires nurturing and care to thrive, much like a strong diplomatic relationship,” added Mr Bondy.
“The act of planting it together symbolises a joint effort in sustaining and strengthening the close ties between our governments and people,” he added.
