The Shura Council expressed pride and appreciation at the remarkable achievements and contributions of Bahraini youth at both local and international levels, as the kingdom marks Bahraini Youth Day today.
The accomplishments, the council affirmed in a statement read out by its secretary-general Kareema Al Abbasi during the weekly session yesterday, are the result of the unwavering support and royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad.
She added that Bahrain continues to empower young Bahrainis as key pillars of the nation’s future and a driving force in its development and progress.
“The council also highlights the importance of the decision by the Cabinet, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to designate this special day, underscoring the government’s growing commitment to supporting and empowering young Bahrainis to play a crucial role in building the nation and shaping its future,” said the statement.
It also commended the continuous efforts of His Majesty the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
“Their leadership and initiatives have been instrumental in motivating Bahraini youth and enhancing their vital contributions to national development.
“This includes fostering an environment that encourages innovation and excellence, as exemplified by the recent launch of Bahrain’s first satellite, Al Munther, developed by young Bahraini talent.”
The Shura Council reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the role of youth in national development by continuously updating legislative frameworks that support their empowerment, enhancing their active participation in shaping Bahrain’s future, and backing government initiatives aimed at developing their skills and fulfilling their aspirations.
It urged young Bahrainis to continue refining their skills and striving for excellence, ensuring that they remain key contributors to the nation’s prosperity.
Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh allowed youth and sports committee chairman Redha Monfaradi to speak on the occasion.
