Bahrain’s security and stability is crucial for advancing tourism and investment initiatives in line with the Government’s Action Plan and sustainable development goals, a senior government minister has said.
Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa affirmed that the kingdom offers a secure and attractive environment for tourism, which plays a vital role in supporting national economic growth, during a meeting with Arab Tourism Organisation president Dr Bandar bin Fahd Al Fuhaid yesterday.
Present was Tourism Minister Fatima Al Sairafi.
The Interior Minister commended the organisation’s role in advancing tourism development across the Arab region in support of sustainable development. He also expressed the kingdom’s readiness to host the upcoming Arab Tourism Security Forum.
Gen Shaikh Rashid attributed the success of Bahrain’s tourism and investment initiatives to the support of His Majesty King Hamad and the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He added that successful economic development depends on stability, highlighting the Interior Ministry’s commitment to the national tourism strategy through the implementation of safety measures that reinforce Bahrain’s position as a safe and welcoming destination for visitors worldwide.
The minister further noted that evolving regional challenges demand greater co-operation and the strengthening of joint Arab security efforts.
The meeting also reviewed means to deepen collaboration and enhance co-ordination based on a shared commitment to advancing mechanisms of joint Arab action.
Discussions also addressed a range of issues related to building joint capacities to tackle emerging challenges.
