Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani yesterday participated in the meeting of the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee on the Developments in Gaza with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, held in Cairo.
The meeting was convened at the invitation of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptians Abroad Dr Badr Abdelatty.
The committee’s delegation was headed by Dr Abdelatty and included the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Qatar, Palestine, Türkiye, Indonesia and Nigeria, as well as the Arab League secretary general and Organisation of Islamic Co-operation secretary general.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Gaza, particularly in light of recent Israeli attacks, the collapse of the ceasefire, and the worsening humanitarian conditions due to restricted delivery and distribution of aid.
The participants also reviewed the Arab plan for recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, and preparations for the international conference on early recovery and reconstruction, set to be hosted in Cairo.
