“On the auspicious occasion of the 54th anniversary of our Independence and National Day, I, on behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh, would like to extend my warmest greetings to His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the friendly people of Bahrain.
Message from Bangladesh Ambassador Mohammad Rais Hasan Sarower on Bangladesh Independence Day:
“Similarly, I would also like to express my heartfelt greetings to all the Bangladeshis living in Bahrain.
“Since gaining independence in 1971, Bangladesh and Bahrain have been maintaining excellent diplomatic ties.
“The celebration of the golden jubilee of our diplomatic ties in 2024 further underscores the strength of our friendship, and we deeply appreciate the unwavering support and goodwill extended by the esteemed leadership and the friendly people of Bahrain.
“Bangladesh and Bahrain have emerged as strong advocates for the promotion of peace on the global stage.
“Bangladesh is one of the highest troops-contributing countries in the UN peacekeeping missions, while Bahrain upholds peaceful coexistence among diverse religious, sectarian, and cultural communities.
“Here, I would like to take this opportunity to convey Bangladesh’s heartfelt congratulations to the Kingdom of Bahrain on the United Nations General Assembly’s very recent proclamation of January 28 as the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence, following a draft resolution put forward by the kingdom and receiving votes from nearly all member states, including Bangladesh. It is a testament to Bahrain’s global leadership in fostering peace and understanding, championed by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence.
“We commend Bahrain’s consistent and impactful initiatives for promoting peace in the region and beyond, as evidenced during the Arab League Summits and in numerous other multilateral forums.
“We would also like to congratulate His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the successful launch of Al Munther, the kingdom’s first domestically designed and built satellite, which is a significant milestone in Bahrain’s technological advancement and space exploration.
“Bangladesh and Bahrain have maintained an excellent record of mutual support and co-operation as both countries are active members of OIC, ACD and the UN. We are grateful to the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting a good number of Bangladeshis who are playing a crucial role in strengthening the bonds between our two nations. Their dedication and hard work have contributed significantly to the economies and development of both Bangladesh and Bahrain. The volume of trade exchange between the two countries is around $50 million, with significant potential for Bangladesh to expand its presence in the Bahraini market.
“On this auspicious day, I reaffirm Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening our partnership with Bahrain across all fields, particularly in trade and investment, civil aviation, people-to-people exchanges, manpower, education, culture, pharmaceuticals, and ICT.
“Let us continue to work together, hand in hand, to build a future of shared prosperity, peace, and progress.
“May the friendship between Bangladesh and Bahrain live long!”
