MOTORSPORT – FORMULA 2 and Formula 3 in-season testing continued yesterday at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
For the second day running, Formula 1’s two chief feeder series had their full grids out on track as they continued to gather crucial data in between rounds in their respective 2025 seasons.
They flagged off their campaigns in Melbourne, Australia earlier this month, and both are set to headline the support race programme in the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, taking place from April 11 to 13 at BIC.
It will be the second round of their championships.
Richard Verschoor of MP Motorsport clocked the fastest time in F2’s morning session yesterday, held in daylight conditions. He had a best lap of one minute 46.475 seconds.
MP teammate Oliver Goethe finished second on the timesheet just 0.174 seconds behind, while Joshua Durksen of AIX Racing was third 1.509s back.

In the afternoon session, which took place at night under BIC’s bright state-of-the-art floodlights, Gabriele Mini of Prema Racing had the best lap of 1:42.488.
Martins followed only 0.095s slower, while Roman Stanek (+0.263s) and Leonardo Fornaroli (+0.340s), both of Invicta Racing, were third and fourth, respectively. Verschoor was fifth best 0.379s off the pace.

Santiago Ramos (+0.140s) of Van Amersfoort Racing and Christian Ho (+0.146s) of Dams Lucas Oil were fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the afternoon runs, Boya was quickest in 1:48.640. He finished 0.282s faster than Sharp, while James Wharton of ART Grand Prix was classified third 0.322s back. Freddie Slater (+0.507s) of AIX Racing and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak (+0.539s) of Campos completed the top five.
Testing continues with one final day of sessions today at BIC. F3 will be first on track from 9.30am to 12noon and then again from 3.15pm to 5.45pm. F2’s running will be from 12.30pm to 3pm and then from 6.30pm to 9pm.
