Just days after their engagement, Tamar Leek and Charles Benoit Dubois made the ultimate leap of love – exchanging vows in a private, heartfelt ceremony at Abu Dhabi Civil Court.
With only Charles’ best friend, Sergey Bespalov, a professional videographer and photographer present to capture the moment, the couple embraced an intimate start to their married life.
“We missed having our family and friends there,” Tamar admitted, “but we loved being able to take in the moment alone as a couple. It was very romantic and meaningful, there were no distractions, just us.”
The bride was stunning in a hand-designed off-white dress, crafted in collaboration with her longtime Bahrain-based tailor, Dominica del Mundo Orada. “I flew back especially to work with Dom,” Tamar shared. “She knows my style completely and never misses.”
The gown featured a flirty 1980s supermodel theme, with a short front, long back, corset detailing and puffed taffeta. She completed the look with a bow in her hair, classic ‘So Kate’ Louboutins, a simple veil and a bouquet of cream-coloured roses.
Investment banker Charles looked effortlessly sophisticated in a beige linen suit, accented with a matching cream rose boutonnière, the perfect complement to his bride’s timeless aesthetic.
The ceremony itself was an emotional one. Tears were shed, rings were exchanged and vows were made with glowing smiles.
The couple then celebrated the new chapter with a luxurious staycation at the Rotana Resort in Saadiyat. They spent the afternoon basking in the joy of the moment, playfully tossing heart-shaped confetti and capturing heartfelt memories in the golden Abu Dhabi sun.
Looking ahead, the couple plan further wedding celebrations with family and friends, perhaps in the South of France, Tamar revealed. “We were only engaged for a few days before we decided on a secret express marriage. When you know, you know.”
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Dubois!
