Seven of Bahrain’s most promising startups have been selected by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) for the second cohort of its Riyada Business Accelerator Programme, powered by Salica Investments (formerly Hambro Perks).
The initiative aims to propel early-stage businesses forward with hands-on product development, strategic team building, and vital connections to talent, funding, and business guidance platforms.
Out of more than 100 applicants, 24 underwent a rigorous bootcamp, designed to refine their business strategies and assess their dedication. Ultimately, seven exceptional startups were chosen to join the second cohort, showcasing the breadth and dynamism of Bahrain’s entrepreneurial scene.
The selected startups represent a diverse range of sectors, including Soor, an InsurTech platform simplifying insurance comparison and purchase; Twazn, a FinTech venture offering AI-powered personalised investment options; Academity, a SportsTech platform connecting sports academies, athletes, and guardians; Rentat, a PropTech solution streamlining property management for landlords and tenants; TellSaleem, a HealthTech platform integrating telemedicine and medical tourism; Tamam, an AI and Business Automation app providing AI-driven order management and business analytics; and CaterMe, a FoodTech and E-Commerce platform simplifying catering orders from multiple restaurants.
The first cohort of the Riyada Business Accelerator Programme, comprising six startups, generated 30 job opportunities and secured over $526,000 in funding through investments, grants, and competitions.
The programme, which provides expert mentorship and strategic resources, highlights Tamkeen and Salica Investments’ commitment to supporting Bahrain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
