Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani has affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to boost historic relations of friendship and strategic partnership with the US.
He also stressed mutual keenness to promote bilateral co-operation.
This came during a meeting in Washington with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in the presence of Bahraini Ambassador to the US Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Dr Al Zayani commended the approach of the US administration under President Donald Trump in supporting efforts to achieve global peace and end conflicts.
He commended the US role in achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and securing the release of several hostages and detainees, as well as its efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
The US Secretary of State underlined his country’s keenness on advancing bilateral ties and enhancing co-operation to serve common interests and maintain regional security.
Dr Al Zayani also met Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Jim Risch and reviewed the steady development of bilateral relations across all domains.
