Markets across the kingdom are being inspected to ensure fishermen comply with laws and regulations.
The Coastguard organised the campaign in co-operation with the Interior Ministry, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Marine Resources Directorate.
A number of violations were registered, including those related to fishing laws, unlicensed foreign labour and possession of illegal fishing equipment.
Legal measures were taken in response to these violations. Officials have urged all fishermen to adhere to rules, noting that such campaigns will continue to apprehend violators and support the preservation of Bahrain’s marine resources.
