VOLLEYBALL – AL Najma squeezed into the Golden Square semi-finals last night in the 2024-25 Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.
Najma booked their spot as fourth seeds after defeating Al Nasser in four sets in their concluding fixture of the Top Six stage, played at Isa Bin Rashid Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
After splitting the first two frames – which included a tough battle to end the second – Najma regained control and rode their momentum to the end, taking the game with a 3-1 (25-22, 28-30, 25-17, 25-18) final scoreline.
The result earned Najma their fifth win in 10 games, putting them in the last spot for the Golden Square. Nasser, on the other hand, suffered their 10th straight loss and completed their Top Six campaign winless.
Najma will now take on top seeds Al Ahli, who finished the Top Six unbeaten in 10 outings. The other semis match-up will be between second seeds Muharraq and third seeds and two-time defending champions Dar Kulaib.
Both Golden Square series will be played in best-of-three format. Their schedule has yet to be released by the Bahrain Volleyball Association.
