Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam along with several heads of Gulf legislative councils, the Egyptian House of Representatives Speaker and the Arab Parliament President on the sidelines of the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), held in Tashkent.
President Mirziyoyev commended the strong historical ties between Uzbekistan and the GCC countries and their shared interest in furthering bilateral relations.
He emphasised the important role of legislative bodies in supporting relations between Uzbekistan and GCC countries, commending Gulf parliaments for backing global parliamentary efforts and contributing to the success of the IPU.
Mr Al Musallam conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad, along with His Majesty’s best wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Uzbekistan and its people.
He emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing bilateral co-operation with Uzbekistan.
