Bahrain-based Al Baraka Group will be a ‘Global Partner’ for the 45th AlBaraka Islamic Economics Symposium, the bank said.
The symposium, themed ‘Islamic Banking in Fifty Years: Past Achievements and Future Aspirations’, will be held on April 16-17, at the University of Prince Muqrin in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
The event will gather scholars, jurists, bankers, and academics to discuss the evolution of Islamic banking over the past 50 years, including legislative and market developments, and innovative approaches while maintaining Islamic principles.
Discussions will also cover Sharia governance and the role of Islamic banks in socio-economic development.
The agenda includes a panel discussion on the role of banking groups in the Islamic finance sector and workshops on new governance standards and developing Islamic financial products.
The AlBaraka Forum awards will also be distributed, and memorandums of understanding signed.
Al Baraka Group annually sponsors the symposium, which it said has played a crucial role in establishing the foundations of Islamic banking and economics.
Launched in 1981, the symposium serves as a platform for Shariah and economic discussions, aiming to enrich Islamic economic practices with fatwas, recommendations and practical solutions.
