Racing helmets manufactured in Bahrain are becoming cultural icons, and are set to be used in the upcoming F1 movie.
Custom-designd Bell Racing helmets as well as head-to-toe safety gear from its sister company OMP Racing and Bahrain-based parent company Racing Force Group (RFG), will be used in the upcoming sports action drama flick, starring Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem and Damson Idris.
“All the helmets in the movie were made in Bahrain,” RFG marketing head Mohammed Albareeq told the GDN. “There were some custom helmets created for Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, as well.”
The GDN reported yesterday that F1 president and chief executive Stefano Domenicali believes the new movie will be ‘great news’ and instrumental in expanding the sport’s reach around the world.
In addition, RFG recently unveiled its new Bell Collectibles website, which allows fans from around the globe to purchase full-sized and miniature editions of helmets used by drivers who wear Bell Racing Helmets, including some special single-race designs.
“The ultimate statement in motorsport collecting, Bell Collectors are more than just helmets – they are highly exclusive, meticulously crafted masterpieces,” the company said, in a statement.
“Each piece is an exact 1:1 recreation of the helmets worn by the world’s top drivers, capturing every detail with absolute precision.
“Produced in strictly limited numbers, these replicas are presented in a luxury plexiglass display case with a premium base and, for select editions, feature a signed visor, making them the pinnacle of motorsport memorabilia.
“With only a handful available worldwide, these helmets are an elite showcase of racing heritage, reserved for the most discerning collectors.”
RFG chief business officer and Bahrain managing director Aref Yazbek added that this ‘Made in Bahrain’ memorabilia will be shipped out to fans wherever they live.
He also noted that these special editions often rise in prices in the secondary market.
Full-sized helmets go for more than €10,000 (BD4,113) each, with the miniature ones priced at €100 (BD41) and above.
