The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) partnered with the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (Swift) to hold its annual national user group meeting in Bahrain.
The event, which took place at the InterContinental Regency, saw the participation of over 60 representatives from licensed financial institutions.
Attendees received updates from Swift, including its Global Payment Innovation (GPI) for improved cross-border payments and the Pre-Val service to reduce payment message errors.
The CBB’s executive director of corporate services and Bahrain’s Swift User-Group chairperson Yousef Al Fadhel said the event aimed to “contribute to boosting the competitive potential of all parties, while enabling them to meet the developments of the thriving payment landscape.”
The meeting also covered the ISO 20022 certification and the objectives of the G20.
