A high-level delegation from the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), headed by Governor Khalid Humaidan, recently concluded a visit to the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland.
The visit underscores the CBB’s continuous efforts to bolster the stability of monetary and financial systems through strategic alliances with key global financial institutions.
During their time at the BIS, Mr Humaidan engaged in discussions with BIS general manager Agustín Carstens alongside other senior officials. The talks centred on exploring avenues to deepen their existing collaboration, exchanging perspectives on pressing global financial challenges, and examining emerging trends that are poised to reshape the financial services landscape.
Commenting on the visit, Mr Humaidan said: “This visit reaffirms our commitment to fostering partnerships with international institutions, particularly in a time of accelerated transformation and challenges in the global financial sector. We are dedicated to engaging in active dialogue that supports the development of Bahrain’s financial services sector – a key pillar of our national economy.”
The visit also served as an important platform for the CBB to strengthen its international network, investigate potential collaborative ventures with the BIS, and share its technical expertise. These discussions are geared towards promoting financial sustainability and aligning with the kingdom’s overarching ambitions for growth and digital transformation within its financial sector.
