Private companies in Bahrain that employ people of determination will now benefit from an additional 10 per cent wage support per year, as part of a National Employment Programme initiative by Tamkeen.
The new guidelines come as part of directives from Isa Bin Salman Education Charitable Trust Board of Trustees chairman and Tamkeen Board of Directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It aims to ensure all segments of society benefit from Tamkeen’s programmes.
“The initiative is also in line with the National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities and reflect Tamkeen’s commitment to ensuring Bahrainis are the preferred choice of employment in the labour market,” the labour fund said in a statement.
“It also aligns with one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which focuses on ensuring access to healthy lives and well-being for all.
“Tamkeen reaffirms its commitment to equipping Bahrainis with suitable skills for career development in the private sector, and prioritising enterprise growth, digitisation, sustainability, and supporting the development of the ecosystem surrounding the labour market,” the statement added.
