Hotel occupancy rates have skyrocketed for the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, with some of them reaching 100 per cent, indicating a significant growth in the hospitality industry.
A year-on-year positive trend has also been observed, with more bookings from international countries this year compared to 2024.
The sport’s superstar drivers and their teams have already arrived in Bahrain, staying in the country’s top four- and five-star properties, and the stage is set for a record-breaking event, both on and off the track this weekend.
The grand prix spectacle, to be held at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) from today until Sunday, marks the fourth round of the 2025 FIA F1 Championship and celebrates the 75th anniversary of both F1 and the national carrier and grand prix title sponsor Gulf Air.

Ms Vuco
InterContinental Bahrain’s sales and marketing director Visnja Vuco told the GDN that its occupancy rate has hit 100pc, adding that the demand and energy around the race continue to grow year after year.
“We are welcoming guests from all around the world, including the UK, Italy, USA, Saudi Arabia, and others,” she said.
“Many are first-time visitors eager to discover the kingdom’s unique blend of heritage and modern luxury.
“This year, we have curated exclusive F1-inspired packages that include luxurious stays, gourmet dining, spa treatments and easy access and transport to the circuit to ensure our guests feel like champions.
“Formula One is more than a race, it is a means to discover Bahrain. Guests are left impressed by the warmth of our hospitality and the high standards of our hotels, so it is no surprise that many opt to return.”
The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay reported a fully booked race weekend, adding that many of their guests returned year after year to enjoy the five-star property’s hospitality.
Guests from the US, Europe and around the world have booked their stays at the hotel and are set to enjoy its signature experiences.

Mr Atef
“The F1 Grand Prix is a great opportunity to increase awareness of our beautiful destination,” the hotel’s commercial director Ahmed Atef added.
“Guests from all around the world travel to Bahrain during the race weekend, where they experience the destination, connect with the local culture and people, and witness the excellence of our hospitality industry and facilities.
“Each year, we host the much-anticipated Pre-Race Lawn Party by the Wolfgang Puck Bahrain team, and this year’s event will feature South American flair, along with attendees from the Wolfgang Puck global leadership team who are traveling here especially for the occasion.
“Additionally, at Bahrain Bay Kitchen, our award-winning Friday Brunch embraces the racing spirit with themed décor and special culinary highlights crafted for the occasion. Both events are fully sold out.”

Mr Mounir
The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain’s sales and distribution director, Michael Mounir, told the GDN that they expect to be fully booked as well.
“We have seen an increase in the number of guests each year over this period, with the majority coming from other countries,” he said.
“There is some rise compared to last year, which we feel is largely due to the kingdom’s effective marketing campaigns, which have positioned Bahrain as a popular and vibrant destination.”
Beyon Money BIC Fan Village at Block 338 in Adliya, for example, has also proved to be an outstanding success, attracting numerous social media influencers pushing the kingdom’s welcoming tourism message far and wide.
This year, Mr Mounir reported ‘a high number of bookings’ from European countries, such as Italy, the UK and France.
Fans are also expected to turn up in large numbers travelling via the causeway that links to Saudi Arabia.
“As part of the race weekend, we are offering a variety of exciting experiences, across our restaurants and lounges, all inspired by the global spirit of Formula One,” Mr Mounir added.
“F1 is more than just a sporting event; it is a remarkable opportunity to showcase Bahrain’s rich culture, warm hospitality and world-class luxury offerings. For many international visitors, it is their first introduction to the country, so we take pride in offering a range of experiences that showcases the country’s culture and traditions.”
Hilton Bahrain has also seen a surge in bookings for this year’s racing season, which is consistent with past years’ trends.

Mr Farouk
“The excitement surrounding the event draws a vibrant mix of local and international visitors, and this year, we are welcoming many racing fans and art enthusiasts alike, which demonstrates the event’s enduring popularity and appeal,” said Hilton Bahrain’s general manager Tamer Farouk.
The hotel will also host a live painting event, featuring talented Bahraini artist Deena Radhi, from today until Sunday, from 10am to 5pm.
“The live painting will kick off the season, incorporating elements of Bahraini culture.”
Hilton will be decorating its lobby beautifully to capture the spirit of F1 and according to Mr Farouk, “by engaging guests in this way, we can introduce them to the richness of our culture and the comfort of our hotels”.
“The excitement of the weekend inspires attendees to explore more of what Bahrain has to offer, from our stunning architecture to our delicious cuisine,” he added.

Mr Flindt
Sheraton Bahrain general manager Thomas Flindt revealed that the hotel is also fully booked, with an increase in numbers compared to last year.
“Most of our bookings have been by visitors from the GCC, US and Europe,” he said.
“F1 is the single largest event during the year that places Bahrain in the international spotlight, therefore, it is very important for attracting tourists. The amazing hospitality you encounter here will motivate them to return.”
All grandstand tickets to the race weekend were completely sold out in record time, including seats to the Main, Turn 1, Beyon, University, and Victory grandstands.
Sunday’s night race will see some of the biggest names in motorsport going head to head around 57 laps of the 5.412km track at BIC.
